Thanksgiving Pies with Paula Marcoux

Our local history is full of delicious pies, and Thanksgiving is the pie holiday, so why not make 2018 the year you start to make the best of that legacy and tradition? You'll have several days after completing this class to apply your learnin' to the practicalities of your own Thanksgiving dinner...

Paula will demonstrate from start to finish the making of the most adaptable of pastries, pâte brisée, then each participant will make their own batch of pastry, and also a small pie to take home and bake.

Members of the class will work together to fill, bake, and eat several Thanksgiving classics, including the all-but-forgotten gem, the Marlboro Pie.

Class size will be limited to eight, so that no question or uncertainty may be overlooked.

At some point we will break briefly for a quick small lunch to tide us over until pie-time.

If you have a favorite rolling pin and apron, bring them along!

  • All materials provided, and as locally sourced as possible, of course.

  • Modest lunch included.

  • Fun and delicious.

This workshop is offered in partnership with the Wildlands Trust of Southeastern Massachusetts
